Yee-Haw, July Fever is here! My first guest, with the kudos for opening this month-long event, is the awesome Allyson Lindt. Those of you that have been following my blog will know that Allyson has a new book out today – Holding Her Close – but she’s here today, to talk about July Fever.

Summer, Popsicles, & Turning Up the Heat
I’m not sure if it matters what my post says, since y’all may still be staring at the image accompanying it. I know I took my time appreciating him, and even though he’s not directly related to the post, he does fill my head with thoughts of July Fever.
I think July and I think roaring sun, barbeques, and popsicles. I think popsicles and I think about all the things one can get up to with a little frozen liquid and a dash of creativity. So I wanted to share a snippet that’s been niggling my thoughts:
Riley knocked on Zane’s door.
“S’open.” His familiar voice carried into the hallway.
She pushed inside, latching the door shut behind her and flipping the lock into place. She wasn’t sure why, but something told her it might be a good idea.
Zane stood at the opposite end of the room in the kitchen area, leaning against the counter near the sink, eating a Popsicle. He gave her an exaggerated wink. “Do anything for you, baby?”
Some of her tension and guilt evaporated at the display. She laughed and crossed the room. “Are you trying to tell me you’re interested in letting me watch you suck on phallic things?”
His brow furrowed, and he held the treat away from him. “Uh, no.”
“Too bad.” She pushed out her lower lip. Stepping forward, she wrapped her hand around his wrist and sucked the sweet slowly into her mouth, devouring the entire length before pulling back with a slurp. A low groan tore from his throat. She licked her lips, eyes wide and—she hoped—innocent as she looked at him again.
He tossed the Popsicle in the sink. “You’re evil. Like 120 percent.”
She stepped away playfully, thumbs in her pockets, tugging down the waistband of her jeans. “Are you complaining?”
“Not even close.”
What’s your favorite way to cool off (or heat things up) in the summer? Tell me about it in the comments and be entered to win a $20 Amazon gift card, and a 2-book set Holding Her Close and (as soon as an ARC is available for its Aug 19 release) Toeing the Line.
And don’t forget to come back the rest of the month, not just because of the amazing giveaways, but because there are 30 more days of July heat planned for you.
When heartbreak and betrayal define a billionaire playboy’s past, the last thing he needs is to fall for the one woman who can save his company. Holding Her Close is a sexy, contemporary romance about first loves and second chances.
Zach is haunted by ex-girlfriends. The day his fiancée dumped him she also sold her shares of his multi-billion dollar corporation. On top of that, the girl who broke his heart in high school — the only woman he’s never been able to forget — is back in his life. She’s filling his business partner’s head with delusions of recovering from the hostile takeover, and haunting his most vivid fantasies. But he’s got a plan to solve half the problem: one night together and they can put the past behind them.
It’s been years since Rae talked to her high school sweetheart. But running in the same circles — her best friend is his business partner — has caught up to her. Rae is seeing Zach everywhere, including her explicit, rampant imagination. When he proposes a single night together for closure, she hopes it will be just what she needs to move on.
The past and the present intertwine as “Just this once” becomes “Just one more time.” Especially when Rae discovers the solution to Zach’s business problems. Can he trust her enough to risk his heart and livelihood a second time, or will experience convince him to walk away from everything?
