I’m delighted to welcome Mina Khan to July Fever. I’ve been a fan since I read her first Djinn novel, The Djinn’s Dilemma, and it’s a pleasure to have her posting today 🙂

July Fever…

I grew up in Bangladesh located in South East Asia and now live in Texas, so July has always been Hot, Hot, HOT for me.  While I’m a self-described cold wimp (50 degrees and I’m shivering & hiding inside a heated house), I find myself reveling in the heat.

To me the summer temperatures aren’t hot, but HAWT. July makes me thinks of scorching heat, steamy jungles, rain drenched Monsoon afternoons, shirtless men, the beach, lightning storms, ice-cold beer, shimmering mirages, glistening skin and more shirtless men. Oh yeah, I’ve got July Fever and I’m not complaining.

I enjoy all heat levels and try to bring them into my genie romances. To give you a taste, I’m sharing the hero & heroine’s first kiss from A TALE OF TWO DJINNS (a Romeo & Juliet story with a happy ending):

“She cupped his chin. “You’re bleeding,” she said. “Let’s go back to your place and get you cleaned up.”

He closed his eyes and concentrated on his essence, his mind working on healing and cleaning his outer appearance. After a moment, he opened his eyes. “All done.”

She leaned into him, her breath a warm whisper on his skin. “Let’s go back to your place anyway.”

His head dipped toward her, drawn by the magnetic pull of her tempting scent. What he’d intended to be a quick stolen kiss, ignited a burning hunger. Her soft, full lips parted beneath his, and her tongue darted out playful, inviting. Heat sizzled to his groin and he deepened the kiss, his tongue chasing after hers into her sweet, hot mouth. Her hands slid up his back, fingers tangled in his hair.

Damn, he could find nirvana in her, with her.”

Author Bio:

Mina Khan is a Texas-based writer and food enthusiast. She grew up in Bangladesh on stories of djinns (pronounced “gins”), ghosts and monsters. These childhood fancies now color her fiction. She daydreams of hunky paranormal heroes, magic, mayhem and mischief and writes them down as tales of romance and adventure.

Her first published work, The Djinn’s Dilemma, won the novella category of the 2012 Romance Through The Ages (published) contest.

A Tale of Two Djinns  won the 2013 Readers Crown Award in the paranormal category
