Fantastic boxed set on offer – from Tracey Alvarez

Due South boxed set – only $0.99 (usual retail price $7.99)

If you like heartwarming, sexy and sweet small-town romances with a touch of comedy, you’ll love sharing the journey with these authentic men and women struggling to find their special someone.

The Due South bundle contains the first five books of Tracey Alvarez’s best-selling series set against the stunning backdrop of Aotearoa, New Zealand.

The first 5 Due South Books (over 1500 pages) included in this bundle are:

In Too Deep (Book #1)
Two hearts. A second chance. Everything on the line…
To save her brother from financial ruin, police diver Piper Harland does the one thing she swore she’d never do—return to the tiny island hometown on Stewart Island where Ryan “West” Westlake crushed her heart. West lost Piper once, but now she’s back for an unexpected six week visit. Maybe he wants her a little bit, but can he fall in love with such a flight risk? Saying goodbye the second time might just destroy them both.

Melting Into You (Book #2)
They’ll either melt or raze their lives to the ground…
Ben Harland is, by his own admission, a bit of a grouch. He doesn’t do soppy chick-flicks and he’s hen-picked enough as it is with his mother and two younger sisters on his case. He sure doesn’t need any more drama in his world. But life has a way of rearing up and biting him in the butt when he least expects it. Cue insta-daddyhood to an eight-year-old girl and an out-of-control attraction to Stewart Island’s hot school teacher, Kezia Murphy.

Ready To Burn (Book #3)
Watch the sparks fly as they burn it up in the kitchen…
Shaye Harland desperately wants the role of Due South’s head chef, but the far too sexy Del Westlake muscles in and steals it. A reality TV show plans to feature Del at his estranged father’s restaurant—jump-starting his ruined reputation and career in the States—but will the sparks flying in the kitchen burn his chances of ever becoming Shaye’s Mr. Perfect?

Christmas With You (Book #4)
The Kiwi barbecue isn’t the only thing sizzling this summer…
Carly Gatlin’s doesn’t want to spend another Christmas alone since her father died the year before. She’s come to Stewart Island in New Zealand to spend the holiday with her stepfamily, though she feels more of a Christmas Grinch than filled with good cheer. Kip Sullivan’s big, boisterous family have also arrived en-masse—someone just shoot him before his match-making relatives get out of control. Kip agrees to make Carly’s first Kiwi Christmas special, but will he gain more than mistletoe kisses from the woman who threatens to claim his heart?

My Forever Valentine (Book #5)
Love small town romance and Happily Ever Afters?
Dive into the Due South world to find out what your favourite characters are doing to celebrate Valentine’s Day with these four short and sweet romance stories.
Intended for mature 18+ aged readers.

Excerpt  – From Ready To Burn

One second Del stood beside her all moody and mysterious, and the next, his hands gripped the railing on either side of her hips. He moved fast–fast enough that she made an embarrassing little eep-ish squawk. Nowhere to go unless she became flexible enough to do a flip over the wooden railing.

Shaye yanked her hands from her pockets and gave his chest a shove. “Back off.”

Even after she added her sous chef do it now or die glare, he stayed, big and bad and way too close. He continued watching her with dark and unreadable eyes, his nostrils flaring slightly as he breathed.

Her hands didn’t know what to do. She couldn’t put them back on those two hard pecs, since every single nerve-ending had soaked up the heat burning through Del’s shirt and transmitted swoony, oh yeah sighs into her brain.

Stupid nerve-endings. Stupid brain.

She wriggled her bottom, so she half sat on the railing, arching away from him. “What are you doing?”

“Showing you the reason.”

The rough timbre of his voice stroked over her. Wickedly dark, decadently rich, scarily addictive. Like chocolate, the quality stuff made of eighty percent pure cacao.

He leaned forward, his face level with hers. “It’s a compelling reason.”

Shaye’s hand shot out to grip his biceps–that or topple backward–but God, he felt amazing. All hard, sinewy muscle and why the hell couldn’t she unhook her fingers?

Her breathing hitched, high and ragged. “My sister’s a cop, and I know how to defend myself.”

“So, show me your ninja moves.”

“Daring a cornered woman to hurt you isn’t very bright.”

One of his hands rasped off the wooden railing and touched the end of her ponytail. He selected a strand and stroked it down her jaw. Shaye licked her lips, unable to suck her gaze from his mouth, which angled closer. Close enough that she could tell the flavor of the last handful of potato chips he’d eaten.

Salt and vinegar. Her favorite.

She strained upward to see if he tasted as good as he smelled…Freaking hell–

Shaye reared back a little, hair slipping from his fingers, her chin narrowly missing his. “Are you going to kiss me?”

Her heart gave a little bunny-hop at the thought and leaped around her ribs.

“Not unless you ask real nice.”

“Ask you?” There was that damn smirk of his again. She should’ve guessed he was playing with her. “When pigs fly.”

A muscle ticked in his jaw, but the smile didn’t falter. “Now you’ll have to say, ‘Please, Del. With a cherry on top.’”

“I’d jam that cherry up your nose before I’d kiss you, Hollywood. Get outta my face.”

His gaze dipped once to her mouth then flicked up. “I can’t go anywhere while you’re grabbing onto me.”

Quick Fire Interview with Romance Novelist Lisa M. Owens

Welcome to Lisa M. Owens

I’m thrilled to welcome Lisa M. Owens to my blog today. She kindly agreed to take part in the Quick Fire Interview.

Take it away, Lisa… 🙂

Quick fire questions:

Tea or coffee? Tea
Wine or vodka? Vodka
Chocolate or peanuts? Chocolate
Early-bird or night-owl? Night-owl
Desert island or city break? Desert island

In depth:

1. Where are you now and what can you see out of your window?
I am sitting at my desk and I can see the birds lined up on the fence.

2. Do you write in an office?
I write in my temporary office. I am currently in the process of turning a spare bedroom into an office. Hopefully, it will be completed in the next six months or so.

3. Do you need tidiness or chaos in order to write?
I call my work area “organized chaos.” Everything is scattered but I know exactly where everything is.

4. Any must-haves by your side? Coffee? Special pen?
Framed photographs of my kids. They are my inspiration to be a better version of myself.

5. Do you prefer music / background noise to write with, or silence?
This just depends on how my writing is coming. If the words are flowing easily, I enjoy music softly playing in the background. If the chapter I am working on is not coming along well, I prefer complete silence.

6. Tell us about your main characters and how they meet?
Austin is a Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps. He meets Trisha, an artist, for the first time three years ago on a flight to Texas. They make small talk, but both of them are attached, so nothing develops. Three years later, Austin is wounded from battle and divorced, and Trisha has broken her engagement. They meet again when Austin accidentally goes into the wrong hotel room.

7. Were they easy to write, or did they make things difficult for you?
Austin was the more challenging of the two. I had to do a lot of research about the military to develop his character. Trisha was easy, she is a reflection of my own personality. She often says what she is thinking and doesn’t filter herself before she blurts it out. I make that same mistake sometimes.

8. Do you plot, or do you pants your way through the writing process?
I always have an original plot. But sometimes the characters take over and it doesn’t go the way I planned it. They seem to have minds of their own about how the story will go.

9. What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever written, published or not?
A play when I was fourteen years old. Looking back, I want to laugh. The plot sucked and the character development was not there at all. But I still have it. I keep thinking it might make a good teenage novel, so I hang onto it.

10. What are you working on now?
I am currently working on my third instalment of my If Only… series. This is Susan Weston’s story and it’s called, And Then…
I am also working on the sequel to this novel, titled, DESTROYED. It is from the perspective of Austin’s buddy, Nick.

Thank you, Lisa 🙂  Now tell us about your new release.

Trisha had thought that she would never see him again. Even though he wasn’t hers, he had never been hers; she had always thought of him as her marine.

That airplane flight to Texas had changed her life for the better. It had opened her eyes, in more ways than one. Because of him, she had realized that she had never truly loved Ty and she never would have been good enough for him. Or for his family.

Trisha Morgan had often fantasized about what would happen if she ran across the tall, broad-shouldered, good-looking Marine again. They had had an instant connection, they had both felt it. But since both of them had been attached, nothing more than a new friendship could evolve between the two of them.

Austin Chandler walking in on her while she was as naked as the day she was born was not one of the many scenarios that she had envisioned.

Wet skin. Long legs that seemed to go on forever. Waxed bikini line. Delicately-painted red toenails. Pink-tinged, erect nipples. Large, full breasts still wet from a recent shower. Small droplets of water that he could lick off drop by delicious drop.

She shrieked with surprise, her hands drawing her towel even tighter around her shaking body.

A sudden thought occurred to her.

He wasn’t wearing a ring.

She screamed the sound sharp enough to shatter glass. Wrapping a fluffy, blue towel around her slender body, she paused, apparently not knowing what to say.

When Austin was finally able to raise his eyes from admiring her ass…ets, his dark brown gaze slowly travelled up her perfectly proportioned body before focusing on her flushed, embarrassed face. It was her. The girl from the plane over three years ago.

Their eyes met and time seemed to stand still. This was fate, destiny, kismet.

Trisha stood there trembling. She had imagined this moment for so long, yet when it finally came, it was nothing like she had expected. She had never been one of those girls who hopped into the nearest bed with a complete and total stranger.

But Austin wasn’t a stranger, she struggled to remind herself. She had met him before. He was her hero, her knight in camouflage. He was her marine. She smiled. She wondered how he would feel if she were to confess that little secret to him. Would he be upset or would he be flattered?

A small hint of a smile played on her lips and he dropped his duffel bag onto the ugly, stained orange carpet of the hotel room floor. He had dreamed of this moment, he had longed for it. He had longed for her. On the bed, against the wall, on the tile of the bathroom shower stall, any way he could have her.

About Lisa M. Owens

The writing bug bit Lisa M. Owens at an early age; she was writing short stories and poetry by the age of seven. At the age of eight, she entered a writing contest at her elementary school. About fifty books were written, but Lisa was one of the thirteen writers chosen who received a certificate and the chance to meet Oklahoma writer Sandy Miller.

A former victim of domestic violence herself, Lisa worked at the courthouse for over seven years. Almost three of those years she worked on the Marriage License/ Protective Order desk. She helped women file protective orders and worked closely with the staff and counselors at DVIS.

Frustrated with books that merely gloss over the subject of domestic violence, Lisa wanted to write a book that told the entire story. Her dream is for her words to help give someone the courage to leave an abusive relationship.

She resides in Oklahoma and has two children. This is her third published novel, and she is currently working on the second novel of this series. She is currently working on her fourth novel. Lisa enjoys hearing from her readers and can be reached at P.O. Box 9643, Tulsa, OK 74157-0643, or by e-mail, lisamowens@ymail.com. Sadness Into Joy – guest post from Rosanna Leo

Can you judge a book by its cover? Hell, yes, if it’s from Rosanna Leo. Gorgeous covers, and fabulous books. Her Gemini Island shifters especially.

I’m THRILLED to showcase her newest release on my blog today.

GI Shifters

Thanks so much to Sofia for hosting me today as I celebrate the release of Predator’s Rescue, Gemini Island Shifters 7, the latest in my shape shifter romance series.

Many of my faithful readers were surprised and excited to see a darker side as this series progressed. When it began, my fictional community of shape shifters on Gemini Island was a sanctuary. There may have been some obstacles for my characters, but they were always overcome.

Halfway through the series, I introduced a new villain and things weren’t clear cut after that. There were losses for the good guys and moments of devastation. Hearts were broken and several characters had new obstacles in their path.

Why would I have gone in this direction? Well, simply put, that’s life. We all feel sadness at one time or another and it was important to me that my characters also endure a bit of hardship.

Early readers have rejoiced upon reading Predator’s Rescue because we see the first moments of hope in a while and a glimpse into some new relationships. Yes, the Ursa Lodge will never be the same but the characters who inhabit it are strong. They don’t give up on love. Some of them will find new love in unexpected places. By the end of the book, I believe my readers will be filled with a sense of joy and excited to see the culmination of the series in book 8.

I hope you’ll join us on this journey.

Tiger shifter Jani Fodor should have washed his hands of Fleur Bissette long ago. However, when she disappears from the shape shifter sanctuary on Gemini Island, he can’t forget her, and launches a fraught two-week search to find her. He thinks she’ll be grateful but the petulant she-wolf resents his intrusion in her life.

predatorsrescueJani recently liberated Fleur from a vicious cult of shape shifters, where she was brainwashed by the sadistic August Crane. The wolf shifter terrorized their friends at the Ursa Fishing Lodge and Resort on Gemini Island. Labeled a “bad girl” all her life, Fleur knows she’ll never fit in with the good guys at the Ursa, no matter how much Jani tries to convince her of their regard. Besides, she can’t stay with Jani. Although he’s the closest thing she’s ever had to a friend, their chemistry is explosive in the worst way.

When a new menace arises, in the form of a vicious drug dealer with a grudge, Jani is adamant Fleur accept his help to rehabilitate her addict mother and remove her from the influence of her dealer. Fleur accepts Jani’s assistance but as they work together, friendship erupts into passion. Neither can deny their lust-struck spirit animals and before long, they realize their connection runs deeper than they ever expected.

Despite the threats posed by the drug dealer, the worst danger of all dwells inside Fleur. Haunted by the spirit of August Crane, Fleur is inundated by visions that torment her. She is consumed by guilt and plagued by old hostilities. Can this bad girl make good? And is Jani’s love enough to save her from her demons?

Once again, Jani’s temper flared but he swallowed his simmering rage. He stood and raised his voice so he could be heard over Loretta Lynn’s tinny warbling as it emanated from the jukebox. “Now I’m going to ask everyone in this shithole one more time. I’m looking for Fleur Bissette. Where is she?”

There was a crash and a feminine cry from behind one of the closed doors. Jani didn’t hesitate. He launched himself off his stool and toward the door, already on the verge of shifting. His tiger hairs danced in anticipation under his skin, ready to burst through his pores.

The two men who’d approached him grabbed him by the shoulders and hauled him back.

“Hey, asshole,” the grizzly man shouted. “You’re not allowed back there. Private parties only.”

Jani glanced at the hand on his shoulder and then at the man. “One warning. Take your hands off me.”

The idiot snorted and looked at his pal. “Why waste your time lookin’ for Fleur anyway? That girl’s nothing but trouble. Trouble loves her. In fact, she’s probably spreading her legs to trouble right now.”

Jani reached for the man’s arms and spun him around. “What did you say?”

“It’s all the bitch knows how to do. That’s all women like her are good for anyway.”

Jani reared back and let his fist fly, cracking it against the man’s face. The grizzly shifter flew across the room, hitting the back wall, collapsing to the floor. The grim satisfaction of seeing the man crumple overrode any pain in his knuckles. In fact, it felt so good to hit the jackass he had to hold his hand behind his back so he wouldn’t hit him again.

No one, no one, insulted Fleur. The man was lucky Jani didn’t kill him for the slight. Fleur had been called too many names in her time, and he’d made it his mission to see she was never belittled again.

Jani nodded toward the other men. “Don’t even think of stopping me.”

He tried the closed door, relieved to find it unlocked. He flung the door open and his tiger senses homed in on her immediately.

Fleur had clearly been serving drinks to the small group of shifter bikers inside, but one of them had gotten a little too close to the new waitress. Her tray of drinks lay on the floor, smashed, and one of the men had her over his lap. His large hand caressed her ass as she squirmed in his grip.

As time seemed to freeze for Jani, Fleur turned to glance at him. She mouthed his name.

The silent plea made his heart twist in his chest. Had she actually spoken aloud? He wasn’t sure. He couldn’t hear her voice. His ears were ringing too much as his tiger roared her name.

Her dark eyes seemed to grow darker, black with emotion, but he didn’t take time to analyze the sentiment flitting behind her irises.

With a noise that must have sounded more animal than man, Jani raced toward her and pulled her off the man’s lap. He moved her toward the door, so she wouldn’t be hurt in the melee. He then turned to the shithead who’d grabbed her, a growl emanating from his furious core.

The biker, startled and likely drunk, didn’t react quickly enough to shift. Jani hauled him off his chair and thrust him toward the wall.

“Jani,” Fleur called, her voice loud and clear now. “Don’t. You don’t know what you’re doing.”

“His hand was on your ass. I know enough.”

One of the other men was foolhardy enough to try to stop him. He tried to yank Jani away but Jani snapped his arm back, using his elbow to hammer the man in the face. Cradling his bloody nose, the man retreated.

Jani turned his attention back to the shifter who’d groped Fleur. “That was the last time you ever touch her.” Bracing himself, he head-butted him. A sickening crack sounded in the room. The man moaned, his eyes rolled back, and he dropped to the floor.

Ignoring the pain exploding through his forehead, Jani marched toward Fleur, picked her up, and hauled her over his shoulder.

“Hey. Put me down! You have no right.”

No right. He might have laughed if he wasn’t concerned about getting her out of there in one piece.

Holding out his free arm to warn off any others who might consider having a go at him, Jani carried the writhing Fleur out of the room and out of the bar. His heart thumped against his chest just from holding her. Granted, he hadn’t quite envisioned holding her like this, her ass high in the air near his face, but it pleased him more than he cared to admit out loud. Something about the scenario made his inner caveman very happy.

A new read – and a fun giveaway from Tara Quan

I adore cats, shifters and foodies, so finding all three in one book is quite simply, MAGIC 🙂

Check out this fun new read from Tara Quan – and don’t forget to hop onto the giveaway!

Midnight snacks

Tara says:

A year ago, I released Fireworks at Midnight, thinking I would leave the world of A Witch’s Night Out forever (I’d planned the series as a trilogy). Unfortunately, my characters had other plans. Since I’d sicced Madame Eve on her cat familiar, earth mage Shelley Dupree insisted I make things right. To be fair, I’d already given her a magical handicap, forced her under house arrest, and buried her in bills—taking away her feline companion did seem a cruel and unusual punishment.

It took me two months of fictional time to even the scales with Feline Valentine. Part of Decadent Publishing’s 1Night Stand series, my interracial paranormal romance is set in Washington, D.C., where magic-wielding folk try to live alongside us pesky humans. It’s my first true “shifter” AND “foodie” romance (talk about ticking two boxes with one book), and a quick read of the blurb should tell you what I mean.

To celebrate this unexpected return to my favorite series, I’m giving away a $15 gift card. To enter, leave a comment here and drop your details in the Rafflecopter widget at the bottom of this post [or at my website: http://www.taraquan.com/felinevalentine].

Feline Valentine (A Witch’s Night Out)

by Tara Quan

Cover_FelineValentine_TaraQuanUnder magical house arrest in her great-grandmother’s suburban cottage, college graduate and reluctant earth mage Shelley Dupree whiles away most mornings spying on the warlock next door. Though erotic daydreams offer some distraction, she faces long working hours, cash flow problems, and a repeat burglar. On Valentine’s Day, she sets a trap for the mysterious intruder, intent on ending his crime streak once and for all. But her scheming cat familiar foils her best-laid plans, and, with a little help from Madame Eve’s 1-Night Stand service, she discovers a far more dangerous species of magical feline.

After moving in next to a ramshackle building on the outskirts of Washington, D.C., pastry chef Adrien Chatdurois is plagued by repeat sexual fantasies starring the same curvy brunette. In a state of constant arousal, he devotes his early mornings to grueling exercise and spends the rest of his day handcrafting the city’s best chocolates. When his younger brother stirs up trouble on the shop’s busiest day, the frustrated shifter is forced to pay a surprise visit on his reclusive neighbor. He soon learns not all witches are wart-covered hags, and one in particular might prove the most delicious of desserts.

Adrien finished slotting the tray of chocolate-dipped strawberries into the case’s most prominent spot. In honor of Valentine’s Day, he’d drawn a Cupid’s bow on each fruit using melted white chocolate. Beaming a proud smile at the appetizing array, he made a mental note to drop off any remainders on his next-door neighbor’s porch after closing time.

With the notion came a sudden compulsion to also send a bottle of bubbly. Rolling his shoulders to relieve the tension in his fatigued muscles, he tentatively added champagne to the shopping list. If today’s profits met expectations, he should be able to gift the old lady some booze.

Less than a second later, an image of a bottle of peach Schnapps flashed over his vision. Stepping to his left, he took off the wool hat and placed it next to the cash register. Why was his brain fixating on ingredients for a Bellini? He didn’t even like cocktails.

White heat flashed over his vision. He found himself on his knees, crouched over a soft feminine body. Fizzy, bubbly liquid slicked skin the color of caramel. When her back arched, the drink sluiced over a set of tensed, quivering abs to soak her lacy pink waistband. He dipped his head, his tongue trailing over the potent mixture of peach, alcohol, and woman. He dug his fingers into her lush hips, tilting her in the opposite direction so the remaining liquid trickled over her ribs to catch along the underwire of her bra. Capitalizing on the excuse to taste, he—

Fingers snapped repeatedly in front of his face. “Oy. Where the hell did you go?”

With a sigh, he directed his gaze at his sibling. “Bass, what the hell do you want?” Their two-year age gap allowed for a healthy dose of fraternal bonding, but a lifetime as the man’s big brother had also built up baseline cynicism. Sebastien’s unannounced visits tended to have odd and oftentimes very expensive consequences.

12 Reasons To Travel With Your Partner (plus GIVEAWAY)

photo-1440557958969-404dc361d86f - Jordan McQueen

Despite it being summer, it’s wet and miserable weather right now. Not unlike a British Christmas.  Is it any wonder my mind is thinking about getaways? I’m delighted to welcome Jason Biondo to my blog today, to put us firmly in a holiday mood 🙂

12 Reasons To Travel With Your Partner

Travelling is, as far as I’m concerned, truly one of the best, coolest and most awesome things you can do with your loved one together. Although solo travel is rewarding, inspiring and empowering, an escapade with your special someone can create sweet and blissful memories that you’ll cherish for years to come. Furthermore, it’s intrinsically romantic and stimulating in ways that your life at home can never be. Honestly, a week away from home with your other half is a lot more enriching and meaningful than a month’s worth of shopping, Netflix movies and candle-lit dining.

Looking for a good reason to travel with your partner? Here are a few reasons why travelling together is an absolute must for every couple.

It improves intimacy

Did you know that partners who often travel together have more intimate sex lives than folks who don’t? A survey in 2013 conducted by the USA Travel Association suggested than a trip with your loved one is more likely to create a sense of romance than any glamorous present. In addition, the survey stated that over 70 percent of those who travel with their consort admitted that they have an intimate, happy and good sex life.

41556082_sIt strengthens your relationship

As you travel together with your partner, you’ll get to face a myriad of obstacles and challenges along the way. But guess what? These challenges can help strengthen your relationship as a couple. Whether you’re exploring the beautiful landscapes of Anglesey, Wales or getting lost in a buzzing metropolis like New York, the experiences you get as a couple in your travel provide plenty of opportunities for relationship growth.

Forge sweet and unforgettable moments

You will be writing history together as well as create amazing moments and adventures that you’ll always look back with humour and affection.

Home is where the heart is

Travelling to a far-off place? No matter where you’re going, home won’t feel far away when you have the person you love and care the most by your side.

Couples who often travel are happier

There have been of studies that show people who spend more on experiences rather than materials things are much more joyful and happier. The same is also true for relationships. Unlike your latest gadgets and smartphones, the memories from your travel experiences together will last for a lifetime, and will definitely bring you bliss.

It’s a bit more economical than solo travel

Travelling with your partner or a group is a more economical alternative to solo travel since you’ll be sharing the costs of your accommodations, taxi fares, meals and activities.

He/she is there to lighten you up in sour times

25506753_sLet’s face it, travelling isn’t as sunny and smooth-sailing as most postcards and travel agencies would like you to think. There are a lot of unforeseen events and horrible situations that you might face when travelling, such as delayed flights, missed rides, lost reservations, stolen bags and street food. But as you travel with your partner, you’ll have someone by your side who’ll ease the situation and lighten things up.

It’s simply romantic

When it comes to travelling and vacation, there’s nothing more romantic than a trip for two. Though travelling with a gang can be a very fun, it is nothing compared to relaxing in a scenic place with someone you love and adore.

Long rides won’t be boring

Long-haul flights and bus rides are more entertaining when you have your favourite person sitting beside you. To be honest, talking and cuddling with your partner is far better than playing Candy Crush or any game on your smartphone.

It brings out the true character of your partner

Are you in the dating stage and you are feeling like your relationship is getting serious? Then, make sure to book a trip with your partner before committing. In many ways, travelling can take your partner a step away from his or her comfort zone, which in turn will allow you to discover some of the negative and positive traits of your partner. Plus, the combination of exhausting globetrotting and culture shock can bring out the hidden flaws of your partner’s character.

9577469_sSurprising discoveries

There could be a ton of surprising and fun discoveries that can happen when you travel with your loved one. Who knows? Your partner may speak conversational French or be well-versed in Icelandic folklore.

New experiences

As a couple, can you remember the last time you tried or did something new? When you’re travelling with your loved one, you’ll have a ton of chances to try something that you have never experienced before.  From bike ziplines to romantic oceanfront dinners, there are countless of amorous and exciting travel experiences that await you and your loved one.

So, what are you waiting for? Open your travel planner now, and see experience the beauty, charms and eccentricities of the world with your partner!

I’m delighted to welcome Rosanna Leo to my blog today.

Thanks very much to Sofia for hosting me today as I continue my blog tour for my latest paranormal romance release, Night Lover.

Night Lover is different from my other paranormal romances. My readers know me for my shape shifters, gods and selkies. The stories are usually light-hearted (to a degree) and there is always a happy ending. This book ends happily as well, but the journey is a different one. That is because the heroine’s adversary/anti-hero is also very different.

My heroine Renata is under the spell of an incubus, a sexual demon. In researching the legend of the incubus, I came across an interesting theory: that an incubus can only feed off a victim who “allows” him in to some extent. Much like a vampire who cannot enter a house without an invitation, an incubus can only wield power over someone who welcomes him.

Now, this can sound controversial. Even in my book, I talk about the reprehensible practice of blaming a victim for being attacked. But in this world of the supernatural, we’re not dealing with human law. We’re dealing with emotions and dark desires. When Renata welcomes a new power into her life, desperate for romance and a way out of her grief, she never dreams an incubus will answer her call.

And as it’s quickly pointed out to her, he understands her deepest fears. He knows the chink in her armor and recognizes all her vulnerabilities.

Can she possibly fight a demon who knows her better than she knows herself?

I hope you will read Night Lover to find out the answer.

Night_Lover-Rosanna_Leo-500x800    Canadian soprano Renata Bruno is tired of waiting for her big break. Unfortunately, her boss, the conductor of a chamber ensemble, sees her as little more than background material. When she learns of an opportunity to sing solo with a different troupe in England, she knows she must seize it. Especially when she hears the group is to perform Mozart’s Requiem, her favorite work.

As soon as Renata decides to make her move, a strange, sultry presence invades her life. She begins dreaming of a man, one who makes love to her, bewitching her. It isn’t long before her night lover leaves startling proof of his nocturnal presence, making her doubt her senses.

To compound her discomfort, she learns her new conductor is the college boyfriend who broke her heart years ago. As Renata grapples with old hurts and renewed passion, she must also fend off the increasingly fervent advances of her night-time visitor. She realizes she is under the influence of an incubus, a sexual demon.

It becomes harder to resist the incubus when she learns he has a name and had a tragic history. The more she discovers about his past, the more she realizes they are linked in more ways than one. Renata begins to rediscover love and her sense of faith, but will it be enough to save her night lover from an evil curse? And will it destroy her in the process?

Cover teaser

When I saw the face in this painting, I gasped, feeling as if someone had punched me in the gut.

It was the portrait of a man, much in the style of a Gainsborough painting. Full-length, it displayed the man in Regency dress. Tall Hessian boots reached up over his pants, accentuating his height. A waistcoat peaked out from under his soft blue riding coat. I looked up to the face above the coat, clean-shaven and somehow boyish with its round features. His hair was the color of honey and quite curly, with long sideburns travelling down his cheeks. Although he bore a fashionably serious countenance, his blue eyes smiled.

It’s him.

The man from my recurring dream, the man from the theater mezzanine in Toronto. I blinked several times, not believing my eyes.

I couldn’t move. I returned the stare of the man in the portrait. A friendly face, it still managed to unnerve me. The artist must have been a master because its subject seemed to be looking right at me. His pale eyes bore into mine. As I continued to gaze at my dream man, other objects in the background began to blur. The portrait frame and the wallpaper behind him dissolved into nothingness. I could only make out the man, and his gaze seemed to issue me a challenge, daring me to look back at him. My head swam. My tongue grew thick. Pain shot through my stomach and I clutched it so I wouldn’t keel over.

Lizzy came out of nowhere and bounded up behind me. “What’s up? Ooh, he’s cute.” She, too, had noticed the portrait. She also saw how intently I stared. “Hey, are you okay?”

“No.” I couldn’t look away from him, couldn’t stop myself from raking my gaze over every painted inch. “It’s him. The man from my dream.”

“Yeah, right.” She frowned.

Finn walked up to us and put a hand on my back, oblivious to my shock. “So you’ve found the lord of the manor.”

“Hugh Dawlish, scion of Dawlish Manor. The women in the ensemble love this portrait because they think he’s, ah…easy on the eyes. So, shall we rehearse?”

I let him lead me away, but I couldn’t stop looking back at Hugh Dawlish’s portrait.

He was real. Not a wraith from my imagination.

Real. And dead.

Lizzy elbowed me. “You look like you’re going to pass out.”

“I’m fine.”

As we left the room, I looked back once more. The eyes of Hugh Dawlish followed me. I shivered.

A slight smile played on his lips.

Excerpt from What If…

He tossed his jacket onto the library ladder and, walking up behind me, wrapped his arms around my waist. After lifting the thick tresses of my hair, he tenderly kissed the nape of my neck.

“You have the most delectable neck,” he said.

“Thank you.” My voice was slightly breathless at the erotic sensation of his lips raining gentle kisses along my sensitive skin.

After unbuttoning my blouse, his palm roamed underneath the fabric of my shirt, brushing against the small of my back. I couldn’t stop myself from sighing, the warmth from his hand sent shivers of sheer pleasure racing through my body.

“I love the way you look. I love the way you taste.”

He growled into my ear, and I moaned when he nipped at my earlobe.

God, he was driving me crazy.

I was on fire.

Yanking my aroused body against the hard planes of his chest, Carter shifted his position, shoving his hands inside my blouse, unfastening the clasps of my white cotton bra with his nimble fingers, my breasts spilled into his huge hands, and my bra fell to the floor.

“Would you like me to stop?” He removed my shirt in one swift motion and throwing it into the desk chair before rolling it out of our way.

His fingertips raked lightly across the darkened buds of my nipples, and I gasped out loud with pleasure, arching my back.

“I could let you get back to your reading.” He leaned forward to take another nibble of my earlobe. “I know how much you love reading in my library. In fact, I filled the shelves with you in mind.” Carter’s hot breath blew against my flushed skin.

I shivered, an involuntary response which couldn’t be controlled. I closed my eyes and groaned, hearing the sound of his deep masculine chuckle.

Two can play this game. I tilted my head back, resting it against the bulk of his shoulder. I began to shift my body provocatively, rubbing myself up against him, the rounded curve of my ass brushing seductively against his crotch. When he released a guttural groan, I smiled with satisfaction.

Carter whirled me around to face him, unbridled passion blazing in his eyes as he captured my mouth with his own. A fire raged through me, and I grabbed onto the collar of his shirt, bunching the material in my hands. I groaned into his opened mouth, clinging to him. Reluctantly, I released the hold on his collar and started unbuttoning it instead.

After ending the kiss, he grinned. “You greedy wench.” When he brought his wicked mouth down once again to worship my exposed breasts, I thought that I might die from the sheer pleasure of it. He unbuttoned my jeans, his hands reaching inside the denim and cupping the bare cheeks of my ass.

When I moaned, his fingers threaded through the belt loops of my Levis and shoved them down around my ankles. Stepping out of my jeans, I giggled when once again, his hands found my ass. Then he lightly smacked me, the brief stinging sensation on that particular part of my anatomy shocking me for a split second.

He had never spanked me before.

When he started exploring me with his fingers, I went weak. My legs buckled, and I squealed with surprise as Carter swept me up into his arms and carried me over to his desk.

I protested when he gently laid me down on the glass top. But he quickly silenced my concern with another kiss, a kiss which had my mind reeling and left me gasping for air. I released a groan of frustration when his mouth momentarily left mine.

He gave me the self-satisfied smile of a man who knew without a doubt that he had made me wet and wanting. “Would you like to see the rest of my library?”

“I would like to see something, but that’s not it,” I murmured with a suggestive wink, reaching for the fly of his slacks.

Cover Reveal – Mina Lobo – That Fatal Kiss

There are so many amazing sounding books coming out at the moment, and I’m thrilled to take part in another cover reveal. Feast your eyes on this baby… isn’t it gorgeous?

Mina Lobo has long held a passion for Greek mythology. The story of the goddess Persephone’s marriage-by-kidnap to Hades, Lord of the Underworld, has particularly fascinated her, and thus came about Mina’s debut novel, That Fatal Kiss. Coming September 2013, the revisionist tale features a fiery and noble heroine, a handsome and broody hero, and some heated, earth-shakin’ lovin’!

Given Mina’s self-professed neurotic nature, it took her and cover artist Steven Novak a few go-arounds before settling on the cover design for That Fatal Kiss. It had to be curiously compelling, slightly spooky, and yet super sexy—and so it is!

The Book:

Feared by mortals for his inexorable power, and loathed by his fellow Greek gods for the same, Hades rules the Underworld alone. A stark eternity looms before him until he discovers Persephone. Struck by the youthful goddess’ beauty, kindness, and spirit, he must have her. But Hades believes Persephone could never love him, and so he conspires with his powerful brother, Zeus, to take her by force.

Persephone too seeks a mate but her possessive mother, the goddess Demeter, frustrates her husband hunting. Then Hades abducts Persephone, tearing her away from the Upperworld she loves to reign with him in the dank depths below. Though outraged, Persephone cannot deny the desire ignited within her by the dark lord’s touch. And even as she hopes that Demeter will unearth her, Persephone aches to surrender to the heat in Hades’ immortal soul.

The Teaser:

“Enough,” Hades said, closing the distance between them. “I have taken you with your father’s consent, as custom allows. You are in my kingdom, under my rule, and if you have any care for your continued well-being, you will get into my bed. Now.” And with the removal of the pins that held together the black cloth about his waist, he stood naked before her.

The anger warming Persephone clashed with another fire that roared to life within her. She choked on a breath and turned her face from him. “Be warned; I will resist you with the full force of my being, through violent means, if necessary.”

His large, unyielding hands encircled the soft flesh of her upper arms as he said, “If you must. Though your surrender to me would prove more satisfying to us both.”

The Author:

Mina Lobo has a lot of Scorpio action going on in her natal chart, which makes for a rather sybaritic and lust-driven Sagittarian. She aims for a wildly successful future as a writer of dark and whimsical romance while dodging the slings and arrows of her outrageous teenaged son, who’s buggered off to college (hence the “Lite” in her Twitter handle, below). She enjoys comedic horror and alt rock, goth, & new wave music, as well as quality Belgian chocolates.

Mina invites you to keep abreast of updates regarding That Fatal Kiss, as well as the development of any new neuroses, by stalking her at her usual haunts:

Guest post – JJ DiBenedetto * new release *

I’m delighted to welcome back another of my July Fever guests today, JJ DiBenedetto. I’m fascinated by dreams and have so far incorporated them into the plotlines of my two current series, and I’m drawn to other books that do that. This series looks awesome 🙂

Thanks to Sofia for giving me the chance to tell you about my books.  The Dream Series asks the question: what if you could see everyone else’s dreams?

Dream Series promo flyer _1

The answer is that it’s really more of a curse than a gift, because it gets Sara, the heroine of the series, into a heck of a lot of trouble.  She gets drawn into murder mysteries, has to confront mobsters and serial killers and in the newest book, “Waking Dream” (release date 23 August – TBC) Sara discovers she’s got a nemesis who shares her power – but not her sense of right and wrong.

There’s a little bit of everything in the books: romance, mystery, suspense, action, humor, the daily struggles of a young woman trying to live her life with all the madness going on around her – and plenty of heart.

I think you’ll really enjoy these books – they offer something for everyone!

Dream Student

What would you do if you could see other people’s dreams?  If you could watch their hidden fantasies and uncover their deepest, darkest secrets…without them ever knowing?

Sara Barnes is about to find out.  She thought that all she had to worry about was final exams, Christmas shopping and deciding whether she likes the cute freshman in the next dorm who’s got a crush on her.

But when she starts seeing dreams that aren’t hers, she learns more than she ever wanted to know about her friends, her classmates…and a strange, terrifying man whose dreams could get Sara killed.

“Dream Student” is the thrilling first instalment of the Dreams series.

Dream Doctor

“I didn’t expect to be woken up by someone I don’t know dreaming about killing somebody.  I thought I was done with that once and for all…”

But Sara’s not done with it.  As if adjusting to life as a newlywed and starting medical school weren’t difficult enough, she’s started seeing the dreams of everyone around her, again.  Before everything is said and done, those dreams might destroy Sara’s hopes of becoming a doctor, wreck her marriage and even end her life…

“Dream Doctor” is the thrilling second novel in the Dreams series.

Dream Child

“I would give anything to take this away from her.  I would gladly go back to having the nightmares myself – the very worst ones, the ones that had me waking up screaming in a pool of my own vomit – rather than see Lizzie go through this…”

As a resident at Children’s Hospital, Sara can handle ninety hour workweeks, fighting to save her young patients from deadly childhood diseases.  But she’s about to be faced with a challenge that all her training and experience haven’t prepared her for: her four-year-old daughter has inherited her ability to see other people’s dreams…

“Dream Child” is the suspenseful third novel in the “Dreams” series.

Dream Family

“Why is this so hard for me?  Why am I having so much trouble?  Why do I feel so helpless, so hopeless?  What the hell is wrong with me?”

After tangling with murders and mobsters, not to mention medical school and three years of residency, Sara thought she could handle anything.  And then the police show up without warning at her new office and arrest her for a crime she can’t possibly have committed.  Sara’s confidence, and her grip on reality, is shattered during one terrifying night in jail.

Now, the very dreams that have endangered her life and driven her to the edge of madness may be the only thing that can help Sara find herself again…

“Dream Family” is the powerful fourth novel in the “Dreams” series.

Waking Dream

“Oh, God!   We can hurt each other.  Whatever we do to each other in the dream, we’ll do it to ourselves for real…”

When her own dreams are visited by a mysterious woman in a red dress, Sara realizes she has something she never expected: a counterpart, someone outside her family who shares her talent to see other people’s dreams.

When the woman in red keeps showing up in other dreams as well, leaving ruined lives in her wake, Sara knows she has something she never imagined: a nemesis.

Now, Sara must track the woman in red down in the waking world, before she’s forced to fight for her life in her dreams…

“Waking Dream” is the exciting fifth novel in the “Dreams” series.
