We wanted fish and chips… this was as close as we could manage!
Friday night used to be end-of-the-week-takeaway-night. Sometime fish n chips, or a kebab, or pizza. Not these days, though. Not yet.
However, we had fish fingers in the freezer. And potatoes.
We ended up with potato wedges (again!), drenched in lemon-pepper, and the fish fingers. Not elegant, or even close to what we wanted, but it was food. And it tasted fine 😊
The groceries are due tomorrow, and I’m excited to see if we will finally have yoghurt, or our favourite brand of haloumi cheese. I’m probably going to dream about yoghurt tonight!
New Zealand is under Lockdown for at least four weeks. This blog intends to avoid the bad news about rising numbers of victims. It focuses instead on food, and the challenges of cooking fresh meals every day – with the ingredients from my larder. A much nicer message 😊
